Christmas Magic in Stavanger // Vlogmas #2 & Giveaway

Last week, we explored locally and checked out what our new home of Stavanger has to offer in terms of Christmas. Turns out, a lot! From a Christmas market of the unusual sort to a stunning gingerbread village at the Oil Museum, to absolutely gorgeous fairy lights all over the city!

Stavanger is such a lovely town and you should definitely consider visiting in winter to skip (most of) the crowds and experience the Christmas magic :)

We first headed to the old town of Stavanger to check out the Christmas market there, which actually wasn't exactly a Christmas market in the classic sense, but more like a handicraft and art fair.

Lots of ateliers and handicraft stores that I've never seen previously, opened their doors to sell their products, and also the museums in the old town were decorated for Christmas. As far as I know, the market only took place on that one day so naturally, the old town was packed!

We then headed to the Norwegian Oil Museum where the gingerbread village of Stavanger was built up, and even though we expected a huge crowd as it was free to visit that day only, we managed to visit at an excellent time slot where we almost had the place to ourselves!

It was so so magical and so colourful! I could have spent ages looking at the tiny houses!

They even had a replica of Fargegaten, the famous colour street of Stavanger, in the gingerbread village and after seeing it, we were even more excited to head to the real deal covered in Christmas lights!

The pictures don't even do justice how magical this alleyway really is at this time of year!
