I went on a little round trip through Southern Scandinavia aka Norway, Sweden and Denmark in June.
The term roadtrip doesn't exactly apply, I have to admit, but it sounds better than "journey via plane, bus and train". Anyways, today I want to present you my itinerary and a couple of shots that hopefully inspire you to go on a similar trip yourself - as an actual road trip even?!
Day 1: Arrival in Oslo

Sightseeing in the city centre:

Day 5: Oslo to Gothenburg by train

1st class, NSB Train
Day 6: Exploring Gothenburg
- Paddan Boat Tour
- Lunch in Haga

Day 7: Day trip to Marstrand in Gothenburg's archipelago
Going from Gothenburg to Marstrand by bus and exploring the island for the day:
- Marstrand Castle and Defence Walls
- Hiking around the island
- Beach time

Day 8: Gothenburg to Malmö by Train
The journey only lasts 2 hours so you have plenty of time to explore the city, for example:
- Malmö's Old Town
- Shopping
- Relax at Pildammsparken
- Explore Limhamn and enjoy the view on the Öresund strait

Day 9: Day trip to Copenhagen by train
Copenhagen and Malmö are connected by the Öresund bridge and it takes less than an hour to commute between both! Explore Copenhagen on your day in Denmark:
- Stroll through City Centre
- Boat Sightseeing Tour
- Frederiksborg and Amalienborg Castle
- The Little Mermaid

Day 10: Exploring more of Malmö
- Visit Folket's Park
- Stroll through Slottsparken and visit Malmö Castle
- Relax at the beach (Ribersborg Stranden)
- Explore Malmö's harbour area (Västra Hamnen and Turning Torso)

Day 11: Day trip to Lund by train
Lund is a charming medieval town, only half an hour from Malmö by train! Explore:
- Lund University
- Lund Cathedral
- Kulturen Open Air Museum

Day 12: Departure from Malmö
Depart Malmö by bus, train or plane. You can even depart from Copenhagen Airport!
