Photo of the Week: Copenhagen, Denmark

In two days I'm off to Scandinavia to do a road train trip from Oslo via Gothenburg to Malmö and Copenhagen. While I already visited the last two in 2010, shortly after writing my a-levels, I've never been to Oslo or Gothenburg and I'm sooooo looking forward to my trip! All in all I'm going to spend 2 weeks in Scandinavia and even get the chance to celebrate midsommar. I always wanted to experience this holiday and as it is also my birthday, my parents will come to Malmö and we spend a few days together before going back to Germany again.

I've already been to Malmö with my mum in 2010 and while we were there, we did a day trip to Copenhagen. The two cities are only half an hour apart from each other and connected through the Öresund bridge. While Malmö is a charming, relatively small city, Copenhagen is the Danish metropolis - bustling with life tourists, crowded and expensive. I really don't want to complain though as Copenhagen is beautiful! I especially loved Nyhavn, the old harbour area that you can see on the picture. We did a boat trip on Copenhagen's canals and the Baltic Sea though unfortunately we didn't get to see the Little Mermaid as she was on world exhibition in Asia. I have to go on another boat trip this time to finally see the mermaid and as I have a better camera now, I hope to take some awesome shots while I'm there.

Next week's picture will hopefully show you Oslo, if I manage to take a decent shot, so stay tuned!

Have you ever been to Copenhagen?
